Depression
It is a normal part of life to feel low from time to time, and we all have ups and downs in our moods. Sometimes low mood can continue on longer than we would like, and even, for some, become a longer term challenge. In psychology, if low mood continues for more than two weeks, accompanied by a loss of interest in the activities of day-to-day life, with constant feelings of hopelessness, it might be what we might think of as a depressive episode.
A diagnosis of depression may not be the case for everyone, but many people find they need some guidance to get them back on the right path. There is a broad spectrum within depression, from simply feeling low mood on a regular basis, to those who have thoughts of self-harm or suicide. Mood disorders are common, effect a lot of people at some point in their lives, and we have a very effective toolkit to help you find solutions.
